Press Release: New Members appointed to the Consumer Panel

The Financial Services Consumer Panel has announced the appointment of two new members.  Dharshini David and Keith Richards will begin their three year terms as members of the independent Financial Services Consumer Panel on November 1st 2017. 

Sue Lewis said ‘I am delighted to welcome Dharshini and Keith to the Panel. They each bring a wealth of experience and expertise which will greatly benefit the work of the Panel. I look forward to working with them.’

The two new members are:

  • Dharshini David is an experienced economist, writer and financial broadcast journalist who has analysed major developments from the birth of the Euro to the 2008 financial crisis and the run-up to Brexit.
  • Keith Richards is a barrister, arbitrator and commercial mediator. He has served as an independent member and non-exec director on regulatory bodies in a variety of sectors and specialises in professional/industry self-regulation, consumer rights and alternative redress.

  1. The Consumer Panel is a statutory body under the Financial Services Act 2012.  The Financial Services Authority originally established it in December 1998. The Panel advises the FCA on the interests and concerns of consumers.  The Panel is independent. Its views are its own and do not represent those of the FCA.   
  2. The Panel’s membership is drawn from a broad range of backgrounds with expertise including market research, law, financial services industry, financial inclusion, European Regulation, financial regulation, consumer advice, campaigning, communications, compliance and later-life issues.
